Dear Ian,

Thank you for being so encouraging & practical! I write from the perspective of a practicing license naturopathic doctor and find Medium, far & away the most pleasurable place to post. For me, the writing is often quickest part! Then the hunt begins. Looking high and low for the just right picture or simmering over the course of an evening for a compelling title or subtitle. I feel like those additioanl processes call on a different strand of my creativity and then, the immediacy of seeing the final product looking so good, keeps me coming back for more. The ease of using the platform, the clean lines, the you-can-finally-take-a deep-breath white space, and the way it all comes together with seldom a snafu! For me, it’s just plain fun.

I have been writing for forty years now, in & out of my professional life and it might sound odd, but I will never tire of seeing my byline. It’s like a happy surprise jolt to my eyes and and a zippy squeeze to my heart. Linking the Medium pieces to social media platforms, encouraged by my 20-somethings kids, amplifies the work. I don’t relish all the self-promotion, but I try to focus on the fact that my goal is to share the word and work of natural & integrative medicine with the sincere hope that someone, somewhere will read something I have written and it will have a positive impact on their health or the health of someone they love.

Thank you for giving me more ideas to help me use this platform to a fuller extent and best wishes to you in your writing and beyond,

AMY
